From a Nelson based workshop Charliehorse Furniture specializes in custom furniture made to last a life time.

Starting with the consultation, Ken will discuss with you what you want the piece to do (its function), where it will go and what you would like it to look like (its form). Function is usually the most important factor, but there is no reason why a piece can’t look stunning while performing that function. Form is usually dictated firstly by function and secondly by space. Now we know what the furniture needs to do and where in needs to go, we can get creative with design.

Ken will customize your build with your choice of recycled and/or exotic timbers. Using old school joinery techniques and a minimum (if any) modern day fasteners, Charliehorse furniture is designed and crafted to be functional, beautiful and pass the test of time.  Finished using oils and waxes to ensure they are easily kept looking like the day they were crafted.
